Just like all Indians… since yesterday, I am in a state of constant grudge, anger, rage and all other sorts of emotions that I can’t pen it down.
There are two reasons for this
- Capture and subsequent video release of wing commander Abhinandan
- Death of 6 IAF personnel due to a transport plane crashing
Let’s talk about the first point. The recent escalation of Indo-Pak tension flared even further yesterday when two F-16 entered Indian territory of Kashmir. In the pursuit were our two fighter planes. This looks like a normal dog fight in the air which we have seen even in movies a lot of times. But what’s frustrating here is that in the hot pursuit of these F-16 we sent our brave pilot in what is infamously known as they flying coffin the MIG-21.
Although Wing commander Abhinandan showed exemplary skills in knocking down one F-16 the missile fired gave a supersonic rumble that in turn made the engine of MIG 21 to burn. Having no other option, Abhinandan had to eject and unfortunately landed in the enemy territory.
This is all is standard procedure but my question is why MIG-21 … why? we give our brave pilots outdated planes (70 years old ) in such a trying situation. What else can we expect from such redundant tech ? its like we are sending our armed forces with bows and arrows while the enemy is ready with an AK 47. However brave the armed forces might be, the result is always going to be negative.
The second point again is the same. We lost 6 brave IAF personnel due to a technical glitch in the redundant plane. Seriously?
The Armed forces definitely know that in times of war they might have to even go the extent of laying their lives for the nation. But their death due to technical faults and redundant tech is just not right. They never signed up for this.
This is not sacrifice … this is murder.
We allocate 46 billion dollars on defense and yet we are not able to give our armed forces proper gear?
Then the most important question. Where does this money go?
We all know where it goes …
So this reminds me the movie Rang de Basanti was not a fictional story. It’s a true story … sad but true…
Dear Armed forces of India… I salute you and I am sorry. Even though we do such injustice to your service and life and yet you stay with us and defend us with whatever you have.
I am sorry…
A helpless Indian
